Humpty Dumpty

This week feels fragile and loving, and I'm a bit out of sorts. Even the simplest tasks have a cloud hovering over them. I'm thankful for having my friends with me and notice that I rely on them in even the littlest of ways. Knowing that they are with me gives me a sense of relief. 

Emily, you may never have known this, but your ambition to pursue art gave me the courage to bring it back into my life. After hearing your parents speak, I wish we had met earlier freshmen year because first semester was rough beyond my expectations as well and maybe we could have pulled each other out of our desperate I-need-to-transfer mindset. But even now, I look around my room and know that it's beautiful and lovely because you helped me embrace creativity again. Saw this comic this morning and couldn't stop myself from heaving tears into my hair. For the next seven years, I am going to throw myself into becoming a painter that I'm proud of. Always thinking of you.

Smile Grove

One of the best possible ways to debrief after a hectic week and get ready for another. We went to Eckert's for some apple picking and animal petting on a Saturday date. My record number of apples eaten during one outing is eight, and that was a couple of years ago with my family who weren't even fazed.

Pro status.

The week's filled with event planning, donation seeking, career recruiting, problem setting, rush eventing, and exam taking daze. I took some time out to be a creeper and snap shots behind the dorms to give myself a mental break and voilà, here are my tributes. I am staying bundled as the outside chills and as I tap away at my must-do list. Autumn arrives Saturday ::squeals:: and by then, the major tasks will be done and out of the way. I'll be trying to squeeze in some apple picking goodness this weekend to cushion the work that lies ahead. Can't complain though cause life is beyond wonderful.

There are few days more fun than my friends' birthdays. Truth. 

Alex was my very first girl crush before I even knew that the term "girl crush" existed, and she's turned oh so wise. I've fallen head over heels for many people who I am lucky enough to call friends now, but it was an overwhelmingly grateful parallel to be celebrating Alex's birthday just about a year after we first met. I love you & happy birthday & let me scratch your back. 

We spent her day at the Soulard Farmers Market with Christine and there were gems all over. Bargain hunting has crossed over into the realm of fruits and legumes aka now we're talking. I brought along my Blue Q tote, the most durable thing around, to carry away my 10 lbs of noms all for the price of $5.

Baby's First [19th] Birthday

I am remarkably camera shy and don't like the thought of posing for photos around campus so I've doing some major avoidance of this blog since being back. BUT my friends have been the most supportive people and encouraged me to pick it back up because I love it. Many have even said that we could scope out some discrete locations and they would help me shoot. All in all, I feel so thankful for the friends that I have. What a lucky butt I am.

My blog's rebirth post is coincidentally for one of my best friend's day of birth! Libby is the baby of the suite and we did it big on Wednesday. She has the kindest heart and I'm still reeling in shock that I didn't know her just a mere six months ago!

We were dressed to the nines, had an impromptu photo shoot in front of the Brookings's steps, and basically wined and dined our way through the most delicious and extravagant meal at the Melting Pot. Let's just say we scraped the chocolate pots clean. Even our waiter was impressed. It was birthday-college-style done right.
